THE CONFIDENT KUSUM
By Anusha Chauhan
(Part-1/5)
So, Deepak wants Kusum to do a Government job as if it's that easy to get one. And that's because finally, he understood that he can lose his job anytime. There is no job security in the private sector.
Initially, when she was in a semi-government job, he used to underestimate and taunt her that, "Stupid and dumb people do government jobs. Quit it and do a private job because people doing private jobs are much smarter."

Now he understood that government jobs have security and more than that, he now knows somewhere that he can not go into the government sector so he is forcing Kusum. But still has his ego.
He once said, "Why don't you just die? Why don't you just leave me? Why you don't get any deadly disease?" It breaks Kusum's heart. He could have sit and make her understand about his financial condition and security of his job. But no. He is a MAN.

After a year or so, he got transferred again. At this time, Kusum is stronger than before. She now has confidence in her heart. She now does everything ALONE. Once again her son got ill, she took him to the hospital ALONE.

But she still cries holding her baby to the chest whenever she gets hurt. But she is learning to make herself stronger. Now, when Deepak tries to abuse, she does something to defend herself. So he steps back.
Every time they go home, her Mother-in-law, Father-in-law, and Grandmother-in-law confronts Deepak and tries to make him understand, "You are defaming us. She is Lakshmi of our home. You are insulting her."

Very recently, they were watching the movie Thappad. After watching it, he shamelessly asked Kusum, "What did you learn from it?" Kusum replied, "That if husband slaps, give him a divorce." He said, "But you have no confidence. You can not stand for yourself. You can not take this step."
Now, Kusum is planning to get a job. She just wants to focus on the positive aspects of her life. She wants to give her son a good environment to grow up.
She doesn't want to make her son ended up like his father. She teaches him to respect women.

She still loves her husband but maybe doesn't respect him anymore.
Will Deepak change himself anytime in the future? How will be the upbringing of the child in such circumstances?
